The Renmark Club South Australia - A Review

After a long days travel and faced with three hungry children, we left our very basic motel in central Renmark, South Australia in search of dinner. Being located on the Murray River, an obvious choice for dining in Renmark, South Australia (SA) was the Renmark Club .

Having forgotten to adjust our watches for the 1/2 hour time difference between Victoria and South Australia we found ourselves arriving at the Club Cafe at 5.30pm instead of 6pm. So while waiting the 1/2 hour before the kitchen opened we took a pleasant walk along an adjoining jetty and board walk enabling us to admire the beauty of Renmark which included the sunset over the river, heritage buildings and mega houseboats.

Finally sitting down for dinner, at a table overlooking the river, it is obvious that the Renmark Club is a local favourite albeit with the typical RSL or Leagues Club atmosphere. Being a family friendly restaurant there is a kids club room with X Box, DVD etc which offers parents the ability to eat a meal in peace while the children are entertained. The menu includes a range of steaks, seafood and of course the signature parmaginas while there is also a range of kids meals at a reasonable price.

Choosing the chicken parmagina, I wasn't disappointed as it was one of the largest I had eaten in recent times and came with chips and salad from a nearby salad bar. Perfectly cooked and dripping in cheese and tomato it was delicious.

Overall the Renmark Club with its location, location, location is the perfect place for the hungry traveller.
